MoonVision launches the Dishtracker on the Wiesn with A1 Digital

Hendl, Haxn, Brezn and of course a lot of beer - the operators of the marquees at the Oktoberfest were in demand again this year. With about six million guests and the variety of food and drink it was important to keep track of all the hustle and bustle. A1 Digital and the Viennese technology company MoonVision used the latest object tracking technology at this year's Wiesn. The flow of goods could thus be tracked in real time and stock levels could be adjusted accordingly

  • A1 Digital and MoonVision cooperated with the Ammer marquee at this year's Oktoberfest
  • With the dishstracker.at food and drinks were automatically detected
  • A1 Digital continues to focus on innovative solutions that can be applied to various industrial sectors

In cooperation with the Ammer marquee, the technology was used for the whole time of the Oktoberfest from 22 September to 7 October in cooperation with the Ammer marquee. Computer Vision recognizes and interprets camera images in real time and triggers predefined actions, such as bonificating food when leaving the kitchen.

Unlike traditional solutions, MoonVision's software generates thousands of images fully automatically. It does not just detect movements, but captures the data with almost 100 percent accuracy, thereby supporting even complex processes, as tested in the canteen of A1.

"Computer vision and deep learning are hot topics and will continue to play an important role in the digitalization of business processes," said Elisabetta Castiglioni, CEO of A1 Digital. "MoonVision's object recognition platform has tremendous potential and, in conjunction with our advanced cloud technologies, forms the basis for application across multiple industries. The infrastructure is already available to our customers today."

"With A1 Digital, we have found a strong partner in the business and infrastructure sectors, with whom we are jointly taking further steps in the automation of processes for a wide variety of applications. What is used here to capture food and drinks is already perfecting processes in all areas - from gastronomy to retail and logistics, to quality assurance in surface recognition," says Kamil Kula, Managing Director of MoonVision.

"We are pleased that the technology was used again in our tent after the baptism of fire last year and relieved our service personnel," says Josef Schmidbauer, Managing Partner of Ammer, investor and senior partner at MoonVision.
