In order to identify as many security-related vulnerabilities as possible, Offensity conducts a permanent penetration test on all external services of the VKB bank and the IP address range that can be assigned to the bank.
For this purpose, the A1 digital experts recreate the attack patterns, methods and techniques that are also used by cybercriminals. In preparation for the penetration test, the A1 digital experts, so-called White Hat Hackers, analysed the operating environment of VKB-Bank and discussed the objective and the way forward.
Offensity's intrusive security scans, which require explicit approval from the customer (Permission of Attack), are constantly bypassing the technical or organisational safeguards to identify existing vulnerabilities.
These fully automated processes monitor the systems and test them immediately after vulnerabilities appear. Reports continuously document and update the identified vulnerabilities and possible solutions to improve the level of IT security.
“Banking is also different. Different is good.” – This is the guiding principle of the Upper Austrian VKB Bank, with which the 600 employees go into the future on the foundation of strong human values. Humanly, personally, locally and digitally, VKB-Bank focuses its daily activities on making the people and companies of Upper Austria more successful and happier. Through its network of 34 branches, VKB-Bank, as a universal bank for private and corporate clients, offers a comprehensive range of banking services based on a holistic and independent approach to support.
Of course, VKB-Bank offers state-of-the-art e-banking systems and relies on digital, mobile communication. However, cyber attacks on the IT system compromise the availability, integrity, confidentiality and authenticity of bank data. It is therefore important to protect certain systems in particular.
In order to protect the banking operation from damage caused by security risks and to identify any vulnerabilities and security vulnerabilities as quickly as possible, especially when new externally available services are introduced, the VKB-Bank relies on the cloud-based security monitoring platform Offensity from A1 Digital International GmbH.
