Exoscale part of the multi-cloud broker framework agreement between GovTech Germany and Bechtle

Munich, 13 May 2026 – Exoscale, provider of a sovereign European cloud, celebrates the first success of its partnership with Bechtle. The company is part of the multi-cloud broker framework agreement of up to 250 million euros, awarded by GovTech Deutschland to Bechtle AG. This enables the Deutschlandplattform, the healthcare platform MEDI:CUS, as well as authorised demand entities from federal, state and municipal levels to access Exoscale's services.

For federal, state and local authorities, the framework agreement means: cloud and AI services can in future be procured more quickly, managed in a targeted manner and operated reliably – with genuine portability between providers and a concrete step towards greater digital sovereignty in the public sector. As part of the provider portfolio, GovTech Deutschland’s demand entities have access to high-performance cloud solutions from Exoscale that ensure digital sovereignty in two ways: firstly, through the hosting of all services exclusively within the European legal framework; secondly, through the ability to use non-proprietary technologies in the cloud, which guarantee independence from any particular vendor.

"Digital sovereignty has for us been a conscious decision for years," explains Dr. Elisabetta Castiglioni, CEO of A1 Digital. "At A1 Digital and our cloud Exoscale, the shared journey with the customer towards digital and sovereign solutions is the driver for innovation, excellent technical quality and new partnerships. We are delighted that through participation in the framework agreement with GovTech Deutschland as a partner of Bechtle, a first visible milestone has been reached."

GovTech Deutschland has set itself the mission of "technology for a capable state of tomorrow". The joint initiative of the Federal Government, the federal states and the tech community offers a central platform that drives the modernisation of state and administration through technological innovations. GovTech Deutschland connects actors from administration, academia and the start-up scene to make technology solutions for the public sector market-ready and scalable. The inclusion of Exoscale in this multi-cloud broker framework agreement underlines that the topic of digital sovereignty has arrived even at the highest levels, which bear significant responsibility for sustainable digitalisation in Deutschland.
